About Us

EXPERIENCE

Jim McCarrick, proprietor of Mac’s Nuisance Wildlife Control has been trapping for over 55 years, from his first muskrat in a backyard creek as a kid to coyotes today, and everything in between. This experience has given him a thorough understanding of wildlife and their habits, including the sign they leave behind. Over the years the trapline has yielded muskrat, raccoon, mink, beaver, opossum, skunk, weasel, fox and coyote. Along with nuisance raccoon, woodchuck, beaver, squirrel, and others. Jim’s wife Cheryl has been actively involved in trapping for the past 12 years and has successfully run her own traplines for fox, coyote, and raccoon, and assisted Jim on the water lines and in nuisance control. Both have extensive training in removing nuisance wildlife and have taken exams to be licensed by the NYSDEC. Together we make a good team and our goal is to satisfy you, the client, with providing the service that you expect and to resolve your wildlife conflict in a way that is best for you, the animal, and the environment.

The Animals

Take a look at The Critters for information on the “usual suspects” and some of the methods we use to remove them.

GENERAL

Whether it’s simply a property inspection to advise you on what the problem wildlife is, or to have us do the complete job of removal, we aim to satisfy and respond promptly to your needs. We can remove dead animals, do exclusion work, or advise a contractor if complicated construction is involved. But first and foremost is removing the guilty animal from your home or dwellings where it can be simply released on your property (after exclusion), transferred, or if required euthanized. You can decide how you want the animal handled and we comply, albeit within Wildlife Laws and at times direction of the Health Department for rabies vector species. We use cage traps for most of our work except where it is not feasible, such as beaver and coyote for example. We also have animal handling equipment that allows us to remove a free roaming animal from your home or business.

FEES

Fees are quoted at the time of contact via phone or email. Rates can be variable depending upon whether an inspection only is required, dead animal removal, set up fees, mileage, and per animal fees. Our goal is to be competitive with similar nuisance providers in the region but to give you the attention and service that makes you want to recommend us to your family and friends for nuisance wildlife issues. Note: Inspection fees will be deducted from the work performed if awarded the work.
